Assignments: 

  1. Choose two of the discussion questions from three of the six chapters (for a total of six questions). Write a one or two paragraph response to each of the questions;
  2. Go to Page 151 or 152 in the text, complete either of the "try this" exercises. Submit a one paragraph description of your results;
  3. Go to Page 166 or 184 (the exercise at the bottom of the page) in the text, complete either of the "try this" exercises. Submit a one paragraph description of your results;
  4. Go to Page 193 or 206 in the text, complete either of the "try this" exercises. Submit a one paragraph description of your results;
  5. Go to Page 214 and 215 in the text, explore three of the nine websites listed on the page.  Write a one or two paragraph description of each of the three you chose;
  6. Go to Page 220 or 229 in the text, complete either of the "try this" exercises. Submit a one paragraph description of your results;
  7. Submit a three to five page research paper on how law enforcement technology has, or can, affect one of the following topics (refer to the expanded assignment descriptions for details):
    1. Fragmentation
    2. Community Policing
    3. Situational Crime Prevention
    4. You may choose another topic; however, you must receive the instructor’s permission BEFORE you begin to work;
  1. Online forum participation; (click here for this module discussion question) and,
  2. Submit a bibliography outlining your research on the Session/Semester Project.
